The useful leftovers

The things that stay with me are rarely the finished images. It is usually a cropped corner, a test print, a surface that caught the light at the wrong angle. Visual noise is not a distraction from the work; it is often the material that gives the work a pulse.

Collecting those fragments has become a way of noticing. The archive does not need to be neat—it just needs to remain open long enough for new connections to happen.
